We are working with the City of Ojai’s Historic Preservation Commission to bring you signage along the former railroad route from Ventura to Ojai. A rails-to-trails project, you can walk or bike from Ojai to Ventura on the path.

Watch for information about the project at the Historic Preservation Commission’s booth at Ojai Day in October. The first four signs along the trail will be installed soon, and then additional information will be available here.

History of the Ventura and Ojai Valley Railroad

The first train from Ventura arrived in the Ojai Valley on March 12, 1898. The Ojai Band was there to greet it.
