Ojai Collects the Holidays

The museum is on the hunt for collections of holiday-related objects owned by Ojai Valley residents.

Collections can highlight any holiday from any culture or ethnicity. Even a made-up holiday that only you celebrate. We want to highlight as many different holidays as possible. We are also looking for collections of all sizes in terms of both numbers of items (3 or more is a collection!) and the size of the objects. Do you collect something small, such as four leaf clovers for St. Patrick’s Day? Can your collection be hung on a wall (i.e. Christmas-themed movie posters)?

Do you:

Celebrate birthdays with special objects?

Save every Valentine you’ve ever received?

Have an assortment of special Easter baskets?

Decorate with vintage Halloween items?

Collect menorhas or dreidels?

Share how you celebrate Earth Day, Lunar New Year, Veteran’s Day, or whatever day makes your year.

What holiday-related collection do you have?

Collectors must be willing to loan some or all of their collection to the museum for 11 weeks (November-early January).
