Perception and Persistence: Ojai Studio Artists

Perception per·cep·tion /pərˈsepSH(ə)n/ noun
Perception can be thought of as knowledgeable seeing.
An artist's studio practice is a form of persistence.
Together, perception and persistence highlight the push/pull of thinking and making.
Each artist approaches their work from an individual place of their own. Artists channel what they experience through the lense of their own background, personality, experiences, and ultimately, their artistic skill. How well an artwork translates their inner vision into the physical world depends on many things. One of those is their persistence in working to achieve their artistic vision.
For over twenty years the Ojai Studio Artists have exhibited their work at this museum. We enjoy sharing their perceptions of life and art with our visitors. And we acknowledge the persistence of our partnership. This exhibition showcases the work of 75 members of the Ojai Studio Artists. Enjoy the wide range of mediums, methods, and styles of this diverse group of artists.
