Finding Light: Ojai Studio Artists

This exhibition takes its title from one of the first lines of Amanda Gorman’s Inaugural poem, The Hill We Climb. During the ongoing pandemic, this time of darkness, we have all grappled with ways to find hope. We have all wondered “where can we find light in this never-ending shade?”
Light inspires artists, and offers a multitude of interpretations. Spiritual enlightenment, lightness of being, the Light and Space art movement, the painterly push / pull of light and shade, lightness of being, and light at the end of the tunnel are all ways artists can explore light.
Through a wide variety of mediums and methods, sixty members of the Ojai Studio Artists show us how they found light this year.
The exhibition was on view at the museum through October 11, 2021.
It has been taken down while as we work on our next exhibition.
