Forty Years of Progress

The Ojai Valley Museum and Historical Society  was founded in 1966 by dedicated volunteers.

The first homes of the Museum were at 841 and 333 East Ojai Avenue--The "Mysterious Inn" pictured at left.
The Museum relocated to the old Firehouse on Montgomery Street in 1980.
Fire destroyed the original Catholic Church, pictured at left.
In 1996, the Ojai Valley Museum moved to its current site in the old St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel.  It was built in 1919 by architects Mead & Requabuil.

It is listed in the National Register of Historic Buildings.
